Create Material Staging Orders
Once a production order is created, you can create a material staging order from which you can group components into kits for staging.
After the source components are defined, you can create new kits or select existing kits.
Get source components
You can choose the production order(s), which will be used to list the components that can be grouped together.
Choose the
icon, enter Material Staging Orders, then choose the related link.
On the Material Staging Orders page, select New.
On the Material Staging Orders page, populate the following fields:
Field Description No. If applicable, enter a unique identifier of the material staging order.
The field is automatically populated if the Material Staging Order Nos. field is populated on the Material Staging Setup page.Description Enter a description of the material staging order. Select Home > Get Source Components to choose the production order(s) for which you want to stage materials.
On the Get Source Components page, enter the values on which you want to filter the returned components:
Field Description Status Select the type of production order. No. Select the production order for which you want to create a material staging order.
You can select multiple orders by entering .. between the order numbers. For example, 101001..101003. When selecting multiple orders, the manufactured item, status, location and starting date must be the same.Starting Date If applicable, enter the starting date of the production order. Select OK.
The components that are associated with a kit group are returned and displayed in the Lines FastTab.
The Prod. Order Components page will also show the material staging order number.
If applicable, update how the items will be grouped by changing the values in the following fields:
Field Description Prod. Item Kit Group Code Select a different production item kit group.
Items with the same production item kit group will be grouped together.Comp. Item Kit Group Code Select a different component item kit group code.
Items with the same component item kit group will be grouped together.Comp. Item Kit Subgroup Code Select a different component item kit subgroup code.
Component items with the same subgroup will be grouped together.Bulk Unit of Measure Select the bulk unit of measure to group bulk component items in their own kit. Select Home > Suggest Kits.
The components are grouped into kits based on the kit production group selected for the production item and component kit group code combination. See Create Kit Production Groups for more information.
Tip
Select Actions > Functions > Prepare > Reset Grouping to clear all of the values in the Grouping field.
If applicable, you can manually change the grouping by changing the following field:
Field Description Grouping Enter a number that represents how the items in a kit will be grouped together when suggesting kits .
For example, all items with a 1 grouping will be grouped together, while all items with a 2 grouping will be grouped together.-

Create kits
These steps explain how to create new kits for a staging order once you have defined and grouped your source components.
You also have the option of allocating existing kits.
Select Home > Create Kits.

In the Lines FastTab, select Functions > Create Kit to create a kit for the selected line and lines with the same grouping value.
The Grouping field is cleared, and the kits are created, and you can now stage the kit.
Allocate existing kits
These steps explain how to allocate existing kits to a material staging order once you have defined and grouped your source components.
You also have the option of creating new kits.
If kits were unallocated from a material staging order, they can be allocated to another new material staging order.
You can only allocate an existing kit if the items and quantities match the grouping.
In the Lines FastTab, select a line that has a value in the Grouping field.
In the Lines FastTab, select Functions > Allocate Kit.
The Unallocated Kits page shows the kits and their contents that match the items and quantities in the selected grouping.
On the Unallocated Kits page, select the kit.
The Grouping field is cleared, and the kit is allocated to the staging order, and you can now stage the kit.
Unallocate kits
If kits were created in error, you can unallocate them from the material staging order.
Kits with staged lines can be unallocated. Kits with lines that have been moved to production cannot be unallocated, you will need to remove the kit from production first. Kits also cannot be unallocated if any of the lines have been consumed.
On the Material Staging Order page, in the Lines FastTab, select the line with the kit you want to unallocate.
Select Correct > Unallocate Kit.
Select Yes to confirm you want to unallocate the kit.
The kit is no longer associated with the material staging order but still exists. Empty kits can be deleted from the Kits page.
Kits that have been staged can be allocated to another material staging order.
