Stage Kits

Once a staging order is created with kits in Business Central, you can pick the items and place them in the staging bin.

If needed, you can unstage a kit if it has not been moved to production.

Note

This function requires the Material Staging app.

Stage a kit

  1. From the MDC Home screen, select Production.

  2. Select Staging Material.

  3. On the Material Staging screen, populate the following field:

    Field Description
Scan Kit No. Enter the number of the kit you want to stage.
  4. Select Search.

  5. If applicable, on the Kit Entries screen, filter the kit entries by production order number by populating the following field:

    Field Description
Search by Prod Order No. Enter the production order number on which you want to filter the kit entries.
  6. Select the line you want to stage.

  7. Populate the following fields:

    Field Description
Quantity Enter the number of items to go into the kit.
Bin Code Select the bin from which to pick the items.
Lot No. / Package No. / Serial No.

For tracked items, select the tracking number of the item to add to the kit.

If you use default package numbers (part of the Warehouse License Plating app), you can select Default Package to automatically populate the Package No. field without scanning or typing the default package number.
  8. Select Stage.

You are returned to the Kit Entries screen. The kit entry is now a different color and shows Staged.

The items are moved to the staging bin set for the component in the production order.

If you entered a partial quantity, another entry will be added for the item.

You can now move the staged kit to production.

Unstage a kit

You can unstage a kit, which will put the items back in the original bin.

If the kit has been moved to production, you cannot unstage it. You will first need to remove the line from production.

  1. From the MDC Home screen, select Production.

  2. Select Staging Material.

  3. On the Material Staging screen, populate the following field:

    Field Description
Scan Kit No. Enter the number of the kit that has entries you want to unstage.
  4. Select Search.

  5. If applicable, on the Kit Entries screen, filter the kit entries by production order number by populating the following field:

    Field Description
Search by Prod Order No. Enter the production order number on which you want to filter the kit entries.
  6. Select Unstage for the entry you want to unstage.

The Unstage button will not be visible if the entry has not been staged.
