Create a Production Order to be Used in Staging
When creating a production order, several fields need to be set up in order to allow the components to be grouped into kits and staged.
These steps explain how to add staging information but do not explain how to create a production order.
Choose the
icon, enter Production Orders, then choose the related link.
On the Production Orders page, select New.
On the Production Order page, in the General FastTab, populate the following fields:
Field Description Source No. Select the item you want to manufacture.
Quantity Enter the number of items be produced. In the Post FastTab, populate the following field:
Field Description Location Select the location of where the order will be staged.
The location must have a bin that is set up for staging through either the location or a machine or work center.Select Home > Refresh Production Order, and select OK.
In the Lines FastTab, populate the following field:
Field Description Kit Group Code Select a kit group code.
The value will default in from the Kit Group Code field on the Item Card page but can be changed.On the Lines FastTab, select Line > Components.
On the Prod. Order Components page, populate the following fields:
The values will default in from the production BOM but can be changed.
Field Description Kit Group Code Select the kit group code.
Component items with the same group will be grouped together in the staging kit.Kit Subgroup Code Select the kit subgroup code.
Component items with the same subgroup will be grouped together in the staging kit.Bulk Unit of Measure If applicable, select the bulk unit of measure to use if you want bulk component items to be staged in their own kit. Staging Bin Code Ensure that a staging bin is selected for all of the components. Once the production order is created, a material staging order can be created.
