Ship a Sales Order
You can post a sales order shipment with or without a warehouse shipment depending on how your locations are set up.
Ship a sales order without a warehouse shipment
If your location is not set up to use warehouse shipments, then follow these steps.
From the MDC Home screen, select Ship.
Select SO Shipment.
Released sales orders are displayed on the Sales Order screen.
On the Sales Order screen, select a sales order you want to ship.
Once a sales order is selected, the screen shows the sales order details.
If the Location Code value is shown in a black rectangle, then a warehouse shipment document is required and you need to follow the Warehouse Shipment steps.
If the Location Code value is shown in a white rectangle, then continue with these steps.
Select the line you want to ship.
Populate the following fields as required, selecting Next when needed:
Field Description Location Select the location of the items to ship. Bin Code Select the bin code that contains the items to ship. Qty to Ship Enter the quantity to ship. Lot No. Enter the lot number of the item. Package No. Enter the package number of the item. Select Ok.
You are returned to the screen listing the sales order lines.
Repeat the steps for the remaining sales lines.
Select Post to post the sales lines.
Ship a sales order using a warehouse shipment
Without picking
If your location is set up to use warehouse shipments but without picking, then follow these steps.
A released sales order is required, but you will have the option to create a warehouse shipment if one hasn’t already been created.
From the MDC Home screen, select Ship.
Select SO Shipment.
Released sales orders are displayed on the Sales Order screen.
On the Sales Order screen, select the sales order you want to ship.
Once a sales order is selected, the screen shows the sales order details.
If the Location Code value is shown in a white rectangle, then a warehouse shipment document is not required and you need to follow the Without Warehouse Shipment steps.
If the Location Code value is shown in a black rectangle, then continue with these steps.
Select the line you want to ship.
If a warehouse shipment does not exist, select Create Whse. Shipment.
A warehouse shipment is created for the lines on the sales order.
Select the warehouse shipment.
Select a warehouse shipment line.
Populate the following fields as required, selecting Next when needed:
Field Description Bin Code Select the bin code that contains the items to ship. Qty to Ship Enter the quantity to ship. Lot No. Enter the lot number of the item. Package No. Enter the package number of the item. Select Next to return to the warehouse shipment lines without posting.
You are returned to the warehouse shipment and can enter information for another line.

Select Post to post the individual line.
You are returned to the sales order, and the posted line will show a value in the Quantity Shipped field. If there are more lines to ship, you will have to navigate to the warehouse shipment.
If you have not posted the warehouse shipment lines, select Post for the warehouse shipment to post any remaining lines.
Tip
You can tell if you are looking at a warehouse shipment because the Source No. column will be showing the sales order number. If you are looking at the sales order, the Source No. column is not shown.
With picking
If your location is set up to use warehouse shipments and picking, then follow the steps in Post a warehouse shipment with picking.
