Post a Warehouse Shipment

You can post a warehouse shipment with or without picking depending on how your locations are set up.

Post a warehouse shipment without picking

If your location is not set up to use picking, then follow these steps.

  1. From the MDC Home screen, select Ship.

  2. Select Warehouse Shipment.

  3. If applicable, filter the listed warehouse shipments by sales order number.

    1. Populate the following field:

      Field Description
      Sales Order No. Enter the sales order number for which to filter the warehouse shipments.
    2. Select Search.

  4. Select the warehouse shipment you want to post.

  5. Select the warehouse line you want to post.

  6. Populate the following fields as required, selecting Next when needed:

    Field Description
    Bin Code Select the bin code that contains the items to ship.
    Qty to Ship Enter the quantity to ship.
    Lot No. Enter the lot number of the item.
    Package No. Enter the package number of the item.
  7. Select Next to return to the screen listing the warehouse shipment lines without posting the line.

    For lot tracked items, the Lot Assigned field will show the status of the tracking.

    -OR-

    Select Post to post the individual line.

    You are returned to the screen listing the warehouse shipment lines and the posted line is removed.

  8. If there are more lines to post repeat steps 5-7 for the remaining warehouse shipment lines.

  9. If you have not been posting the lines as you go, select Post at the bottom of the page to post all the warehouse shipment lines.

Post a warehouse shipment with picking

You can create a warehouse pick from a warehouse shipment.

  1. From the MDC Home screen, select Ship.

  2. Select Warehouse Shipment.

  3. If applicable, filter the listed warehouse shipments by sales order number.

    1. Populate the following field:

      Field Description
      Sales Order No. Enter the sales order number for which to filter the warehouse shipments.
    2. Select Search.

  4. Select the warehouse shipment for which you want to create a pick.

  5. Select the Create Pick button.

    Note

    The Create Pick button is not displayed if the warehouse location does not require picks.

    A warehouse pick is created.

  6. On the Warehouse Pick screen, select the warehouse pick you want to register.

  7. If the tracking is complete and the Picked field shows as Complete, select Register to finish registering the pick.

    Your picking process is complete and you continue with posting the warehouse shipment.

    -OR-

    If the tracking is complete and the Picked field shows as Complete, and you want to clear the tracking, select Delete Qty. to Handle, then go to the next step.

    The value in the Picked field will be changed to Empty.

    -OR-

    If the tracking is not complete and the Picked field shows as Empty or Partial, go to the next step.

  8. Select the warehouse pick line you want to register.

  9. Populate the following fields as required, selecting Next when needed:

    Field Description
    Scan Item

    Scan or enter the item number.

    This field is only displayed if the Validate Item in Warehouse Pick Process toggle is turned on on the Mobile Data Collection Setup page.
    Scan Take Bin

    Scan or enter the Take bin number.

    This field is only displayed if the Validate Bin in Warehouse Pick Process toggle is turned on on the Mobile Data Collection Setup page.
    Qty Picked Enter the quantity to pick.
    Lot No. Enter the lot number of the item.
    Package No. Enter the package number of the item.
    Scan SSCC

    Scan or enter the serial shipping container code.

    Generate a new SSCC number by selecting Create SSCC or entering an existing SSCC.

    This field is only displayed if the Serial Shipping Container Codes app is installed.
    SSCC Type Select the type of container or packaging material.
  10. Select Next.

    If another line exists, you can enter the information for that line.

    Once all the lines are picked, you are returned to the warehouse pick lines. The Picked field shows the status of the picks.

  11. Select the Register button.

    A message is displayed if the pick was registered successfully.

    When registering a pick, MDC will print the number of SSCC labels specified in the SSCC Label No. Copies field. provided the following conditions are met:

    • Print SSCC Label On Pick Registration toggle is turned on on the Mobile Data Collection Setup page.

    • Enable Direct Print check box is selected for the user on the Mobile Data Collection Printing Setup page.

    It first checks the Ship-to Address card for the SSCC Label No. Copies value, and if that field is blank, it then checks the Customer Card page,

    Important

    The Direct Print app and Serial Shipping Container Codes app must be installed to print SSCC labels.

  12. Select the Home icon to return to the Home screen.

  13. On the Home screen, select Ship.

  14. Select Warehouse Shipment.

  15. If applicable, filter the listed warehouse shipments by sales order number.

    1. Populate the following field:

      Field Description
      Sales Order No. Enter the sales order number for which to filter the warehouse shipments.
    2. Select Search.

  16. Select the warehouse shipment for which you created the pick.

  17. On the Warehouse Shipment screen, select Post at the line level to post the individual line.

    -OR-

    Select Post at the bottom of the page to post all the picked warehouse shipment lines.
