Set Up Items for Staging
For items to be used in staging, a kit group needs to be assigned to the manufactured item and the components being staged. The kit groups information will flow through to new production BOMs.
For example, assign the FG kit code to finished goods and the PACKAGING code to material components that will be staged before production.
A subgroup and bulk unit of measure can also be assigned to items.
Choose the
icon, enter Items, and then choose the related link.
On the Items page, open the item you want to set up for staging.
On the Item Card page, in the Replenishment FastTab, populate the following fields:
If you are using the Production Batching app to stage by batch, see Set up items for more information.
Field Description Kit Group Code Select the kit group code.
Component items with the same group will be grouped together in the staging kit.Kit Subgroup Code Select the kit subgroup code.
Component items with the same subgroup will be grouped together in the staging kit.Bulk Unit of Measure If applicable, select the bulk unit of measure to use if you want bulk component items to be staged in their own kit. The kit group code, subgroup code and bulk unit of measure will default in when the item is added to a production BOM.
If a component item is already on the production BOM prior to adding the kit group information, you will need to manually update the kit group code, kit subgroup code and bulk unit of measure code from the production BOM.
If a production order already exists, you will need to manually add the kit group information to the manufactured item and its components.
