Map Fields

You can map FoodChain ID fields to a field in the Item or Item Specification table.

A series of mappings are delivered but if you add custom fields to FoodChain ID, you need to map those fields to a Business Central field.

If custom fields were added to FoodChainID, they must also be added to the appropriate API. See Work with Custom FoodChain ID Fields for more information.

The mapped values will take precedence over any values defined in the item template selected when setting up the api configuration for items.

Note

Mappings were added for the following custom FoodChain ID fields: Category_BUOM, Category_Shelf Life (days), Category_Usage Statement and Category_Storage Conditions. If you want to bring this data into Business Central, you will need to manually add these fields in FoodChain ID.

  1. Choose the icon, enter FoodChain ID Connector Setup, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the FoodChain ID Connector Setup page, select Integration > Field Mappings.

  3. On the FoodChain ID Field Mappings page, populate the following fields:

    Field Description
FoodChain ID Field Name Enter the FoodChain ID field name you want to map to a Business Central field.
Table ID Select the Business Central table that contains the field to which you want to map the FoodChain ID field.
Field ID Select the Business Central field to which you want to map the FoodChain ID field.
    Data Transformation Rule

Select the rule for transforming the data coming from FoodChain ID.

If this field is left blank, then the value that is pulled from FoodChain ID is used as is.
    • Country: Converts the FoodChain ID country to a format accepted by Business Central.

    • Date Formula (Days): Converts the FoodChain ID numerical value to a day date formula. For example, 200 days in FoodChain ID would be converted to a date formula of 200D in Business Central.

    • Date Formula (Weeks): Converts the FoodChain ID numerical value to a week date formula. For example, 12 weeks in FoodChain ID would be converted to a date formula of 12W in Business Central.

    • Date Formula (Months): Converts the FoodChain ID numerical value to a month date formula. For example, 6 months in FoodChain ID would be converted to a date formula of 6M in Business Central.

    Tip

You can restore the default mappings by selecting Create Standard Mappings. The action will not delete any records you added or updated but will re-add any deleted standard mappings. If a FoodChain ID field name has been changed, the action will not work. You will need to remove any changes or delete the standard mapping in order to use the Create Standard Mappings action.
