Post Production Output

You can post output to the production journal for released production orders.

  1. From the Home screen, select Production.

  2. Select Output.

    The Output screen shows a list of the released production orders.

  3. Select the order for which you want to post output.

  4. Select an item number to open the routing line.

  5. Populate the following fields as required, selecting Next when needed:

    Note

    If you selected an operation other than the last one, you will not be able to enter the lot number, expiration date or package number.

    Field Description
    Setup Time Enter the time required to set up the work or machine center.
    Run Time Enter the time required to run the operation.
    Scrap Quantity Enter the number of units produced incorrectly, and therefore cannot be used.
    Work Shift Code

    If applicable, select the work shift code.

    This field is required if using a lot algorithm that includes the work shift code when selecting the Assign Lot button.
    Batch No.

    Select a production batch number.

    This field is only displayed if the Production Batching app is being used.
    Capacity Cost Factor

    Enter the cost factor for the operation.

    The work or machine center direct cost will be calculated by multiplying the cost factor by the direct unit cost.

    The cost factor is recorded but not used in the cost calculation in the following instances:

    • If the Cost Incl. Capacity Cost Factor toggle is turned off on the Variable Capacity Cost Setup page.
    • If the Specific Unit Cost toggle is turned on or a value was selected in the Subcontractor No. field on the Business Central Work Center Card page.

    This field is only displayed if the Show Capacity Cost Factor toggle is turned on from the Business Central Mobile Data Collection Setup page.

    If a value was entered in the Capacity Cost Factor Caption field on the Business Central Variable Capacity Cost Setup page, then this field label will reflect that value.

    Output Quantity Enter the quantity being produced.
    Production Date:

    Select the date the item was produced.

    This field is only displayed if the Use Production Date toggle is turned on from the Business Central Mobile Data Collection Setup page.

    This field is required if using a lot algorithm that includes the production date when selecting the Assign Lot button.
    Expiration Date

    Select the date the item expires.

    This field is required if using a lot algorithm that includes the expiration date when selecting the Assign Lot button.
    Lot No. Enter the lot number of the item being produced.

    Select the Assign Lot button to assign a lot number using the lot number code or lot algorithm code* assigned to the item.

    If the lot algorithm uses the production date or expiration date, then those values must be entered before assigning the lot number.*Requires the Lot Algorithms app.

    Package No.

    Enter the package number.

    This field is only displayed if the Enable Packages toggle is turned on from the Business Central Mobile Data Collection Setup page.

    Select the Assign Package button to assign a package number based on the number series on the Inventory Setup page.

    -OR-

    Select the Assign Default Package* button to assign the default package number set up on the Inventory Setup page. A default package number is often used for loose inventory. *Requires the Warehouse License Plating app.
  6. Select Post to post the output to the production journal.

    Select Post & Print to post to the production journal and to print the report defined for the Production Jnl. Label ID field on the Mobile Data Collection Setup page.
